The third MINOS-EURONET Strategy Forum aims to promote and facilitate the potential of combined efforts of research, industry and policy makers to increase the competitiveness of European economy, with special focus on New Member States (NMS), by developing new technologies, emerging technologies and new design and development techniques. The Forum will focus on strategy issues of R&D in the area of nanoelectronics and MNST, cooperation and coordination of research and technology transfer and its future commercial exploitation.

Europe needs new products and ideas brought to the point of commercial viability to build economic and competitive stability, equality and growth for the next generations. Research, technological development and innovation activities are among the keys to European future welfare if combined with incubation and creation of efficient links between academia, entrepreneurship and finance. Stimulation the cooperation between industry and Knowledge Base (KB) to introduce new technologies and innovative ideas into products/processes and to disseminate the best practices and advantages obtained through the undertaken innovations guides to create new leading business technologies. Exploitation of synergy of transnational cooperation is of extremely importance for New Member States, since existing there individual areas of expertise have to be integrated within European Union in order to widen opportunities to achieve better results of their developments. It is also beneficial for the Europe as a whole boosting its innovative capacity to reinforce competitive position of the European industries to meet global challenges.

The Forum addresses the implementation of knowledge into economy through transnational cooperation and coordination of local, regional and transnational research and development initiatives, which are of extremely importance for the New Member States on their ambitious way to strengthen their emerging economies and integrate them with European market.
